From 24-25th November, 2016 Dr. Barbara Neuhofer was invited to speak about the ‘Experience Economy in the 21st Century: Creating dynamic and consumer-driven experiences through technology.’ at the INTO 2016 Seminar in Mallorca, Spain.
The INTO 2016 International Innovation & Tourism Seminar is an annual seminar, organised by the Government of the Balearic Islands to discuss cutting-edge developments in the tourism industry. This year’s seminar focus was on ‘EXPERIENTIAL TOURISM AS A KEY TOOL FOR DESEASONALISATION’.
Barbara was among a panel of international experts, including Dr. Natalia Tur (Universitat de les Illes Balears) and Dr. José Antonio Pérez (CETT-UB) who discussed the importance of experiential tourism, and new ways in which innovative experiences can be created in tourism and hospitality for sustainability and de-seasonalisation.
Barbara says: “The INTO Seminar is an excellent event bringing together international tourism experts to discuss topics of high relevance for the Balearic tourism industry. This year’s focus on experiential tourism has shown ways forward to diversify Mallorca’s offers through extraordinary and memorable tourism experiences.”
