My key message was to think about the ‘why’ of smart tourism! I believe that when we talk about smart tourism, we need to talk about humans, their experiences and value creation first. To create real value, we need to move beyond technology driven discourses, and instead find ways to achieve value creation that is integrated and sustained, and includes all - actors, resources, beings and spaces - within the ecosystem. 🌍

In 2019, I believe that organisations across all sectors - whether it is entertainment, meetings and events, retail, banking, tourism or education - are in the business of facilitating experiences and guiding long lasting transformations. Experience design is thus no longer something optional nor peripheral. Instead, experience design needs to be embraced as an integral mindset and as a way of doing business at the very core and DNA of any modern, competitive and value generating organisation. 💫

Amidst a politically rather intense week, we did not let ourselves be distracted from having a great time learning and cocreating some unforgettable experiences together in the classroom and on field trips!
Very happy that I could teach the next generation of young leaders in Israel about the importance of high quality services and experience design in tourism, offline and online. Experience design is a way of thinking! Before knowing the tools and technologies and ‘how to’, it’s first and foremost about mindset, attitude, empathy and understanding the ‘why’... Once we learn to truly empathise, extraordinary human experiences will fall into place! 🌷

Hello from Tel Aviv! Business as usual, as they say... 👩💼🏢🇮🇱
Very surreal days and sleepless nights as rockets are being fired while on our business trip.
When you are here, you get up in the morning, check the news, go to work and go about your day as (almost) usual. It’s been a crash course experience for me on what it means to live in a geopolitically fragile zone.
I added words to my vocabulary I did not ever had the necessity to use before and now are part of daily conversations on how we manage today’s teaching schedules... 📚
From updates on rockets, counter missiles, interceptions, bomb shelters, rocket free school days to the iron dome. I got briefed on the siren signals during teaching and the seconds we have to run to the closest bomb shelters, 30 seconds in Ashkelon and 90 seconds in Tel Aviv. This is the exact time the rockets take from launch to landing. Overwhelming experience feeling all sorts of emotions.... Let’s hope everyone from both sides remains safe! 🙏
